about importing the ubuntu-16.04-LTS.ova in the virtual machine
sir I have installed the VM Virtual box , where ubantu 14.04 lts is installed. but is it necessary to instal ubuntu-16.04-LTS.ova on virtual box

Yes it is advisable to install Ubuntu 16.04 LTS. Because it is a stable version compare to 14.04.
Also Ubuntu 14.04 is out of date for the support.
If your base machine is Ubuntu 14.04, still you can reproduce most of the things explained in this Linux Spoken Tutorial series.As some of our tutorials are created in Ubuntu 16.04 there will be a difference in the visual appearance.
